The Bear Keg has been carefully designed to protect your food supply from predation while traveling in bear country. The Bear Keg is molded of a tough proprietary polymer blend, meets US Forest Service specifications and has been certified by the Interagency Grizzly bear committee for use on National Forests in Montana, Idaho and Wyoming to meet food storage requirments in grizzly bear habitat.
These containers have also been certified by the Sierra Interagency Black Bear Group for use in within areas of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, Yosemite National Park, and the Inyo and Stanislaus National Forests where bear-resistant canisters or panniers are required. The bright yellow color and reflector strips makes locating the Bear Keg easy. For smaller groups and shorter trips, the Bear Keg offers 716 cubic inches for provisions or approximately 10.5 quarts for grain.
