If you are going into the backcountry for more than a few hours, you need to have a way to refill your water bottles without falling prey to bacteria. Water disinfectants may work, but require a wait time, may not control Cryptosporidium, and may add a bad taste to the water. Pumps are a better option, but require quite a bit of work, especially if you are traveling in a group or need additional water for cooking and food rehydration. All of the staff at Outfitters Supply prefer to use the Basecamp Filtration System. Make use of gravity: just fill the 2.5 gallon bag, hang, and easily fill your containers whenever needed. The Basecamp removes Bacteria, Giardia and Cryptosporidium to EPA standards using the award-winning Hiker PRO cartridge. System includes a 2 1/2 gallon water bag with a Hiker PRO cartridge and a 3-foot output hose with an on/off switch.
Output: Up to 0.5 liters per minute.
Cartridge capacity: Up to 200 gallons, depending on water quality - use of filter protector will extend cartridge life.
Weight: 13 oz.
Replacement Filter Cartridge also available.
