Which girth rigging style is best?

According to the Tucker Saddlery catalog: Most Tucker saddles come standard with a western style rigging. Western rigging is universal and proven to be durable and secure when adjusted correctly. A rear cinch can be added to keep the rear of the saddle in place. Tucker also offers its unique Enduro-Balanced rigging for extra stability. This rigging uses the rear rigging dee to interact with the front, giving riders the ability to adjust the girth placement and tension to accommodate their horse's needs. It also allows for the saddle to be held down in the rear, which is good for hilly terrain. The Enduro-Balanced rigging comes in two girth styles: Western and an English billet style, to give riders a familiar choice. An English three billet girth style is offered as standard on the Equitation Endurance and may be ordered on the Endurance Trail and River Plantation model saddles.

EBR Single Tie RiggingHow do I use the Single Tie Enduro-Balanced Rigging?

  1. Drop tie strap (latigo) from front rigging dee and run through the back of the western girth buckle.
  2. Pull latigo through front of girth buckle and go through the front rigging dee again, feeding the latigo from front to back, toward the horse's body.
  3. Come out through front of girth buckle and go back to the rear rig slanted dee. Feed the latigo from front to back, toward the horse's body.
  4. Come out of the back of the rear slanted dee and go back down to the girth.
  5. Feed the strap through the back of the girth buckle and behind the previous wrap. Push girth buckle tongue through holes in latigo.
  6. Slide any excess latigo length from front to back through slotted keeper.
