Tucker LogoChoosing the right tree for your Tucker Saddle

Tucker Saddlery recognizes that a great trail horse can be any breed, size and conformation. They have designed their Equi-balanced saddle tree to fit a broad range of breeds and types of horses. They have slightly flared the tree bars both front and back to accommodate the needs of many gaited breeds without compromising the fit for other non-gaited breeds. The extra space created by this bar flare has been beneficial for animals with larger, more muscular shoulders as well. They have also shared their Saddle Fitting Secrets here.

Sometimes fitting your horse properly is only a matter of choosing the correct tree width. Although there is no industry standard, Tucker's Medium tree would be most equivalent to "Semi Quarter Horse Bars" and fits most average sized horses. Tucker's Wide tree is most equivalent to "Full Quarter Horse Bars" and fits most larger and broader horses, such as the Foundation Style of some horse breeds and lighter draft crosses. Tucker's Extra Wide tree, available in the High Plains only, would be most equivalent to "Draft Horse Bars" and fits most Draft Horses or Large Draft Crosses.

If you are unsure which tree would best fit your horse, you can take measurements of your horse for Tucker to examine. These measurements and photos can be forwarded with your order to Tucker.
